Our Magical Connections by Fran Hafey/Mysti
When I woke today and rose from my bed, I noticed something
different.
I felt lighter somehow and my mind wasn't racing like it had been
before,
especially the last few days.
All things are connected.
Earlier today, while working at my desk, I heard my dogs barking
outside. I tried to ignore it, thinking they were just hearing another dog
somewhere and they had to express themselves. Finally, I had to go out and
check to see what was going on, since a few weeks earlier they had warned
me of a snake in our yard that was not being so friendly.
As I walked on the path to where they were, I noticed what a
beautiful day it was. The birds were singing, the sun was shining and it was
quiet with a slight breeze blowing through the trees.
After investigating, I noted there was nothing wrong, just
playful barking and letting me know they needed attention. I made sure they had water and then I checked the roses and picked up something to throw away. I knew there were things in the house that were also beckoning to me to get done, but I just felt that I was supposed to be where I was.
I decided to visit the birds out in the greenhouse aviary we have
and noticed I needed to move a bird, which led me to get my
gloves and begin cleaning a birdcage I had been needing to clean.
I pulled it out on the patio and began my chore.
I sprayed it with my cleaner and then did as I had many times,
taking time to clean this and that. Suddenly I got an idea for an
easier way to do this. I hooked up the water hose and moved the cage to a sunnier location. It was right in front of my face, the hose, which was new and I hadn't used yet and it helped cut the cleaning time by half, at least. I
made a note to say "thanks" because earlier in the week, we were
without water for a day, because we've had so much rain lately,
the main pipe from our well burst, so we had to have it repaired
and that too, reminded me of how blessed we are to have clean
water anytime we want!
As I sprayed the cage and some of the patio too... I was blessed
with the presence of three of my spirit friends... the dragonfly. They
danced about for me to let me know they were there and I said hello. They
seemed to like the water and they came very, very close to me. I then
noticed some of my friendly hummingbirds. They too were enjoying this glorious day. I felt my heart sing when I looked around and saw birds,
butterflies, dragonflies and hummingbirds all around me. I knew then, and they were my confirmation, that I surely was not supposed to have been
in the house today.
I took the time after the cage was clean, to walk around and look
at the
dozens of frogs in our little pond. The dragonflies followed and
they seemed to be laughing with joy to see me. I just looked up
at the blue sky and said "thank you Spirit for the magic in my
life and the blessings."
I was reminded that I am never alone and that all things are
connected. If the dogs had not barked and I had not checked the
greenhouse and I had not decided to move one of the birds into
the empty cage I had, which needed cleaning, then I would not
have been outside, enjoying all of nature around me. I feel so
much happiness and peace within me that I think I will burst! I
thank Spirit everyday for being blessed to live in the country by
choice and to have the experience of enjoying it so much.
If you live in the city or don't get out much, please do make a
point to get out when you can and just go where you can sit
amongst some grass or trees, or where you can see the blue skies
and feel the sun on your face. Embrace the magic and miracles
right there around you. I guarantee the positive energy you'll
feel will wash through you like the waters of a clear mountain
stream.
Don't forget to say thank you and know that all things are
connected through the web of life and share your joys,
experiences and the magic, with someone else too... pass it on!
Love and hugs always,
Mysti
