"Never To Return" by Sharon Janis Chapter Ten
Free - Read at ipadmalibrary.com: "Never To Return" by Sharon Janis Chapter Ten MAGICAL MEETING
A FEW MONTHS LATER came an opportunity for me to meet the swami in person. There was going to be a “Health and Healing” workshop in the upstate New York monastery, and I was going. Beneath my lighthearted anticipation played a soft note of apprehension. I had been going to chants and programs at the Ann Arbor meditation center for several months. During that time, I'd developed quite a friendly relationship with this teacher through the big bright picture in front of the hall. It is one thing to relate to somebody through a photo, and quite another to meet them in person.... Any thoughts?

The Yogi Philosophy may be divided into several great branches, or fields. What is known as "Hatha Yoga" deals with the physical body and its control; its welfare; its health; its preservation; its laws, etc. What is known as "Raja Yoga" deals with the Mind; its control; its development; its unfoldment, etc. What is known as "Bhakti Yoga" deals with the Love of the Absolute--God. Luke 11 verses 1,2: "Now a certain man was sick, named Lazarus, of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha. Apocrypha Arabica by Margaret Dunlop Gibson [1901]
The story, which I have called the Book of the Rolls, from an expression in its opening rubric, is taken from the Arabic MS. No. 508 in the Library of the Convent of Saint Catherine on Mount Sinai, where I photographed it during my second visit, in 1893, and where I revised it and re-photographed various pages on my two subsequent visits in 1895 and 1897... Babylonian and Assyrian Literature, by Anonymous
The great nation which dwelt in the seventh century before our era on the banks of Tigris and Euphrates flourished in literature as well as in the plastic arts, and had an alphabet of its own. The Assyrians sometimes wrote with a sharp reed, for a pen, upon skins, wooden tablets, or papyrus brought from Egypt. In this case they used cursive letters of a Phoenician character. Any thoughts?

Corpus Hermeticum
The Corpus Hermeticum are the core documents of the Hermetic tradition. Dating from early in the Christian era, they were mistakenly dated to a much earlier period by Church officials (and everyone else) up until the 15th century. Because of this, they were allowed to survive and we seen as an early precursor to what was to be Christianity.. Any thoughts?

Divine Songs, by Isaac Watts
It is an awful and important charge that is committed to you. The wisdom and welfare of the succeeding generation are intrusted with you beforehand, and depend much on your conduct. The seeds of misery or happiness in this world, and that to come, are oftentimes sown very early, and therefore whatever may conduce to give the minds of children a relish for vertue and religion, ought in the first place to be proposed to you. Gnostic John the Baptizer Selections from the Mandæan John-Book, G.R.S. Mead tr
The Mandæans are a small and little-known religious community living principally in Iraq. They are the last group of traditional gnostics left in the world and as such present a facinating and edifying 'field of study.' They are not Christians, but trace their earthy heritage back to the same John known as the 'Baptist' or 'Baptizer' in Christian tradition, but they hold themselves radically aloof from both Christianity and Judaism which they regard, in true gnostic fashion, as perverted versions of the true religion...
